What is CBEX?

CBEX is a Romanian association founded in 2016 by a core group of members to promote the business interests of Canadian companies in Romania. Working closely with the Embassy of Canada in Romania, the association has expanded to over 25 members, with an active board of directors and a strong slate of events that benefits its members.

CBEX is a continuation of the efforts of the original Canadian Business Association (CBA) founded in the late 1990s in Romania, once one of the most active business associations in the country.

Business facilitation

We support and facilitate business collaborations between members.

We organize and promote an active agenda of business events: from themed business seminars of interest to our members to social gatherings and partnering with other chambers of commerce and NGOs.

Connecting people

Finding people with the same interests is the first step in creating partnerships. We encourage strong relationships and put all our effort in developing a solid community. We have an active dialogue with the Embassy of Canada in Romania, as well as various public and private-sector entities from Canada, ranging from government to universities. We speak with one voice for the Canadian business community in Romania. 

Visibility and promotion

Our members’ products, services and business stories can be promoted through the association’s communications channels, including social media. Our strategies to improve visibility include social media campaigns, the use of event calendars, and active outreach.

Our mission

Canadian companies have played a key role over the 30+ years in Romania’s transition to a market economy, investing hundreds of millions of CAD and becoming a spearhead among the many actors doing business in Romania. We direct our efforts toward strengthening the Canadian-Romanian relationship.

Considering the involvement Canada has and will continue to have in Romania, CBEX strives to create real networking opportunities for the Romanian-Canadian business community. Our vision is a thriving framework for empowering these ties – bringing together companies from both sides, in order to nurture long term partnerships.
